What The Different Families Are

The periodic table is organized in this way for many reasons. One is to show the different family groups. The different colors on the table show the different groups. Elements in the same group also have similar characteristics. The different families are:

Alkali Metals
Alkaline Earth Metals
Transition Metals
Halogens
Noble Gasses
Metalloids
Non-metals
